If you are comparing exotic rentals in Scottsdale, four things separate the options, and price is the least useful of them. Here is what to actually ask before you book, whoever you book with.
1 · Does the car come to you, or do you go to it?
Some rentals hand you an address and a pickup window. Others deliver. Apex delivers door to door across the full Phoenix metro — Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert and out to Cave Creek and Queen Creek — plus Phoenix Sky Harbor and Scottsdale Airport, and every major resort. Delivery is about $150 each way depending on distance.
The practical version of this question: if my flight lands at nine at night, does someone meet me?
2 · Are you booking a car, or a category?
Rental counters sell you a class. You find out what you actually got at the lot. When you reserve with Apex you are reserving that specific vehicle — the Cullinan you saw, not “a luxury SUV.”
3 · What are the requirements, and are they stated up front?
Ask before you put money down:
- Minimum age. Ours is 21 for most of the fleet; Ferrari, Lamborghini and McLaren are 25+.
- Insurance. We require full coverage — collision, comprehensive and liability. If you do not carry it, we can arrange coverage through Apex.
- Security deposit. Refundable, $1,500–$2,500 depending on the vehicle. Held, not charged.
- Mileage. 100–200 miles a day included depending on the car, with extra miles available at a discounted rate if you buy them ahead.
- Second drivers. They have to clear the same requirements. A driver nobody cleared is not covered.
If any of those answers are vague before you book, they will not get clearer afterwards.
4 · Who is actually handing you the keys?
Apex is owner-operated. The person who prepared the car is the person who delivers it, and the number you text is the number that answers. That is the whole difference between a rental and an arrival, and it is not something a bigger operation can copy cheaply.
What about the peer-to-peer marketplaces?
They are genuinely cheaper, and it is worth understanding why: you are renting from an individual owner offsetting the cost of a car they already bought. What you take on in exchange is variable condition, variable communication, and a deposit-and-damage process run through an app rather than a person. For a weekend that matters — a wedding, a client, an anniversary — that is the wrong trade.

Pick your dates and the car. We confirm availability, collect your license and proof of insurance, and deliver. See what it costs, or text — most bookings happen that way.
